Protests against Israeli Military Action in Gaza
The U.S. Embassy in Doha has learned that a demonstration has been organized for Tuesday, January 13, 2009, starting at 3:00pm to protest Israeli military action in the Gaza strip. The demonstration will commence at the National Theatre Roundabout, from which participants will march north along Al Corniche toward the Sheraton Hotel.
U.S. citizens should avoid any areas where any demonstrations appear to be forming or are taking place. Demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. The U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens to avoid the areas of demonstrations and to exercise caution within their vicinity. U.S. citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.
