GETTING TO THE EMBASSY: Ongoing road construction projects on 22 February Street have limited access to the U.S. Embassy in Doha.  22 February Street (D-Ring Road) is now completely closed between Immigration and Al Sudan Roundabouts.  All access east of the Embassy is now blocked, including the gravel access road that previously allowed drivers to cross 22 February Street from the east.  Access is available on a composite material slip-road that parallels 22 February Street along the side nearest the Embassy.  A new temporary parking lot is available in front of the Embassy for visa applicants and American citizens.

Several routes to the Embassy remain open, but visa applicants should plan sufficient travel time to the Embassy to arrive on time for American Citizen Services or for a visa interview.  All construction activity, its impact upon the road network, and accessibility to the Embassy is subject to change with little to no advance notice from Ashghal or the construction company building the new road.  At this time, the Embassy cannot predict when the road construction project will be completed.  However, we anticipate the road works could go on for another 12 to 24 months.
