Application Procedures

Get an Appointment

All nonimmigrant visa applicants, including for tourism, business or other short-term stays, require an appointment for an interview.  To request an appointment, please visit our nonimmigrant visa appointment website:

https://evisaforms.state.gov/default.asp?postcode=DOH&appcode=3

Only visa applicants with appointments will be allowed into the Embassy – please ask your family members, friends or colleagues NOT applying for a visa to remain at home or work.  To make an appointment, please have the following information available:

1.     Complete name as it appears in your passport
2.     Passport number
3.     Commercial Bank Fee Receipt Number
4.     Barcode Number located on third page of Visa Form DS 156
5.     Local contact telephone number or email address

Once you have completed the visa appointment process, you will be prompted to print a receipt page.  Please print and bring this receipt page on the date with you to your interview.  If you do not bring your receipt page, you will not be allowed to enter the U.S. Embassy for your interview.

URGENT AND EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS

We usually have appointments immediately available.  Please check the availability of appointments before making an urgent request for special scheduling.

If you have an urgent case or a bona fide medical emergency, please send an email to nivconsulardoha@state.gov.  Please indicate “Medical Emergency Appointment Request” in the title of your email.   We will respond to your message within one business day.
