Register with the U.S. Embassy in Doha, Qatar
American Citizen Registration
The U.S. Department of State and all U.S. Embassies and Consulates use a secure online travel registration website to allow you, as an American citizen, to record your foreign trip or residence information in another country. We use this information to communicate with and assist you in case of an emergency and to provide you important information about the country and region in which you are living.
Each U.S. Embassy or Consulate has a "warden" network, where an American citizen volunteers to serve as a representative to the American community for a particular city, region, area, corporation or other organization. The U.S. Embassy in Doha designates warden zones primarily by organization and secondarily by geography. If your organization or corporation currently has 20 or more American citizens in Qatar, either temporarily, as full residents, and including offshore or remote locations, please contact the American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit at ConsularDoha@state.gov to inquire if we can designate a separate warden zone for you. The final decision as to whether or not a new warden zone is created rests with the ACS Unit.
For American Citizens living in or planning to visit Qatar, your U.S. passport information must be included in your registration. Please note that registration with a U.S. Embassy or Consulate is only for American citizens. Please do not register non-citizens or Legal Permanent Residents, also known as "green card holders," even if family members.
To ensure your proper placement in the appropriate warden zone, please provide the following information as it applies to you in the comments section of the application:
1. Name of employer and/or spouse's employer;
2. Type of business, i.e. medical, trading company, finance;
3. Compound or area of Doha in which you will reside; and/or
4. American citizen child of a non-American citizen parent.
US citizens around the world who travel or reside abroad can access the registration page through travel.state.gov or directly at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs.
To update your registration, you must re-register your information through the travel registration website. The ACS Unit receives the information electronically through this system and will ensure your new information and old registration are updated accordingly. However, please note that we cannot initiate an update via email but only through the travel registration system. Please also register yourself and each family member separately. If you are already registered with another Embassy, you must re-register online to update your records. Please be sure include updated emergency contact information each time you register.
The data you provide is secured behind U.S. Department of State firewalls, accessed only by cleared U.S. Government personnel and fully protected under the provisions of the Privacy Act.
