The U.S. Embassy in Doha celebrated America’s Independence Day on June 4th with more than 1,000 guests at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, including Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Follow-Up Affairs, Ambassador Mohammed Abdullah Mutib al-Rumaihi, and Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Mr. Issa bin Rabia al-Kuwari.  Party-goers took a ride down the historic “Route 66,” enjoying classic American cars donated for the occasion by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, Harley-Davidson motorcycles on loan from NBK, and delicious American fare made possible through the generosity of a number of U.S. businesses in Doha.  Rock-and-Roll band “Thunder Roll” performed a variety of American tunes, while Lebanese singing sensation Ranine El Chaar wowed the audience with her range and versatility.  Americans, Qataris and our other distinguished guests feted America’s 232nd birthday with the kind of style and fun that can only be found in Doha.
