Ambassador LeBaron visits Shafallah Center

U.S. Ambassador Joseph LeBaron paid a visit on September 24 to the Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs to learn more about the center and demonstrate the U.S. Embassy’s support. 

 

“The holy month of Ramadan is the perfect occasion for us to remember that all of us, no matter what our abilities, have an important contribution to make to society, and I am deeply impressed by all Shafallah is doing” the Ambassador said.

Led by Shafallah Managing Director Dr. Ed Denning and Deputy Managing Director Dr. Samira al-Qasami, Ambassador LeBaron toured the facility, visited with students and staff, and received a briefing on Shafallah’s new complex in Lusail.  As he presented Eid gifts of toys and books in the center’s library, Ambassador LeBaron remarked that, based on all he had seen, it was clear that Shafallah was receiving tremendous support from the Qatari Government and the Qatari people. 

The Ambassador added, “Through institutions like Shafallah, the people of the United States and Qatar can learn a great deal from each other on empowering children with special needs, and I look forward to creating ways for sharing ideas and experiences between us.”
