Application Procedures
Gather Your Documents
All applicants must provide a passport valid for at least one year prior to their planned arrival in the U.S. In many cases other supporting documents may be required to support your application. Applicants should make sure to bring in any and all supporting documents/information, which may be relevant to their application. (e.g. old passports, employment letters, bank statements, statement of salary, employment contract, etc.).
All applicants must submit a letter from their employer stating their job title, basic monthly salary, and length of employment with their employer and the purpose of their visit to the United States. If the applicant is self-employed, he or she may submit a copy of his or her commercial registration and related documents. In addition, your bank statements for the last three months may also be helpful. Applicants should use their best judgment in determining what documents or information will be necessary to support their application as well as refer to the website for the documentation required for their particular visa category.
Please remember: the above list not an exhaustive list. Depending on the situation of the applicants, the interviewing consular officer may request additional documents as s/he seeks to make an accurate assessment of your qualifications. Alternatively, the interviewing consular officer may decide the information you provided in your application forms is sufficient to decide whether you are qualified for a visa.
STUDENTS and EXCHANGE VISITORS
- SEVIS Fee: Students and Exchange visitors must also provide a I-901 receipt that they verifies payment of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee. SEVIS is an information database that tracks an international student’s progress at his or her educational institution, beginning with the application process through graduation. The intent of SEVIS is to ensure that students remain in their status while in the U.S. As such, students must pay the cost for their entry into the SEVIS system. The SEVIS fee may be paid online by going to https://www.fmjfee.com/index.jhtml, paying the fee, and printing the I-901 receipt.
- High School and/or University transcripts

- Financial evidence that you can pay for at least the first full year of your studies
