Immigrant Visas
Appointments
Existing Petitions
To receive an immigrant visa interview appointment your case must first become current. To be current, your priority date (or date your petition was filed) must be before the date listed in the Visa Bulletin according to the type of immigrant visa for which you applied and, in some cases, according to your country of origin. Some immigrant visa cases are always current, for example, family based petitions, and may be immediately scheduled for an interview pending the consular section's receipt of your petition from the National Visa Center or the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).
When your case is current you will be sent via mail a packet of instructions for obtaining the necessary documentation to apply for the immigrant visa. Once you receive this packet, you may submit this documentation to the Consular Section of the US Embassy. Please send an email to IVCONSULARDOHA@state.gov to schedule a time to come in. Once all required documents are submitted, we will inform you of the final interview date and time.
If your mailing address has changed please notify the immigrant visas section via email at: ivconsulardoha@state.gov. Please include your full name, address, and case number.
